Likely questions
What happens if a dependency (queue, database, third-party API) goes down for a few minutes? Do we lose data?
- Risks worth raising Data loss or duplication on retry (is every write idempotent?).
- Phrases for buying time I want to give you a real number, not a guess. Can I come back to you by end of day?
Plus talking points and push-back phrases. A curated pack per meeting type with your topic filled in; Claude adapts it to you.

Tools
What Claude can do with it
Four read-only tools that return prep and practice material we wrote. You don’t call them by name; ask in plain words and Claude picks the right one.
If you’ve attached documents to the chat or project (an agenda, design doc, CV or job description), Claude tailors the questions, talking points and role-play to them and quotes their specifics; nothing is sent to AskSharper.
-
asksharper_prep_meeting
Returns a prep pack for the meeting type: likely questions, talking points, risks worth raising, and phrases for pushing back or buying time. Your topic and role are filled in.
Try: “Prep me for a design review about our notifications service.”
-
asksharper_practice_script
Returns a role-play script: the other side’s lines in order, a coaching note for each and a debrief checklist, so Claude can play the other side.
Try: “Run a practice job interview with me, one question at a time.”
-
asksharper_meeting_types
Lists the five meeting types: design review, standup, weekly sync, job interview and general.
Try: “What meeting types does AskSharper know?”
-
asksharper_get_app

Try: “How can I get help during the actual call?”
Privacy
No sign-in. Nothing personal kept.
No sign-in
No account, no email, no credentials. You add a URL; that’s all.
What you send isn’t kept
The meeting type, topic and role are used only to build that one reply. They aren’t saved, aren’t logged and aren’t sent to any AI model.
Rate-limited
Your IP address is held in memory only to count requests per minute; we don’t write it to our database or logs. Hit the limit? Wait a moment and try again.
Full details in the Claude connector privacy notice. Your chat itself is covered by Anthropic’s terms for Claude. For the desktop app, see how AskSharper handles your audio and text and the EULA & privacy statement.
In the call
Claude can’t hear your call. The AskSharper app can.
- Before the call, in Claude
- Prep sheets and practice scripts, from the connector.
- During the call, in the desktop app
- AskSharper transcribes the call on your own PC. Press F2 and it suggests your next line, on top of your meeting and left out of your screen share. Your audio never leaves your PC.
- Practice out loud first
- The app’s practice run plays Sam, a recorded AI colleague, so you can try F2 before a real meeting.
Windows 10 & 11 · Free for your first three meetings · Audio stays on your device
Illustration: the AskSharper pill reads Listening and Ask Now (F2). Below it, a practice card shows Sam asking whether a deadline moved up a week is realistic, next to an F2 key and the line "Not sure what to say? Press F2."
FAQ
Questions
Is the connector free?
Yes. There is no sign-in and no charge. The AskSharper desktop app is free for your first three meetings, and Pro lifts the limit.
Do I need the desktop app?
No. The connector works on its own inside Claude. The app is what helps during the live call, because Claude can’t listen to it.
Can Claude hear or join my meeting through the connector?
No. The connector only answers what you ask in the chat. It has no access to your microphone, your calls or your files.
Which meeting types does it know?
Five: design review, standup, weekly sync, job interview and general. The first three match the desktop app’s own types; use general when nothing else fits.
Something isn’t working. What should I check?
Check that the URL is exactly https://api.asksharper.com/mcp and that AskSharper is switched on under + then Connectors in your chat. If you hit the rate limit, wait a little and try again. Still stuck? Email support@asksharper.com.
